Radhika Kathal is a Bharatanatyam dancer and Hindustani Vocalist based in Delhi NCR. She began her training in Bharatanatyam under Dr. Sneha Chakradhar (a senior disciple of Smt. Geeta Chandran) and has been under the mentorship of Smt. Geeta Chandran since 2003.
A graded artist recognized by Doordarshan, Radhika is honoured with esteemed accolades such as the national scholarship “Scholarship to Young Artists” for Bharatanatyam by The Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India and titles such as “Nritya Vilasini,” “Rajat Jayanti Samman,” “Nrityanand Lahiri,” “Nalanda Nritya Nipuna Award 2023” to name a few.
As a senior member of the Natya Vriksha Dance Collective, she has been part of acclaimed productions such as Seasons, Swara Raaga Sudha, Rasa Nanda, Natya Vrinda, Sankriti, Triyatra, Anekanta and Samagati. As a soloist, she has performed in festivals such as Bharat Nritya Utsav (Chennai), Nalanda Nrityotsava (Mumbai), Nruthyollasa Festival (Bangalore), Pongal Dance Festival (Chennai), Raza Foundation’s Aarambh Series (New Delhi), Neemrana Festival of Dance (Neemrana) to name a few.
Her learnings, both as a student and a performer at Natya Vriksha, has deeply inspired to work further in the area of Arts education. Radhika Kathal is not only a performer but also a mentor, serving as the founder of Kaladhwani Academy where she imparts training in Bharatanatyam. Her commitment extends to the realm of arts education, demonstrated through her collaboration with UNESCO and other organisations to develop dance curriculum for visually impaired students.
Radhika is an Arts Anchor at Shiv Nadar School, Noida, where she fosters arts integration into formal education, embodying her belief in the transformative power of the arts. Her motto, “Grow through what you go through,” resonates deeply, guiding her journey as both an artist and educator.
